Date First weekend in May
Time Saturday 20.00z - Sunday 20.00z.
Bands 10 meter through 160 meter (RTTY: 10m through 80m) except WARC bands, are allowed according to IARU band plans. Band and mode can be changed only after 10 minutes you have been on
it.
Exchange
The same station can be contacted on the same band once on SSB/CW/RTTY but only the first QSO is good for multipliers' credit.
Please remember that I (Italy) and IS0 (Sardinia Island) are not country multipliers.
Multiplier Each Italian province (103) count 1 (one) multiplier, each DXCC country (except I & IS0) count 1 (one) multiplier.
The same multiplier (province/country) can be counted once and only once per band.
Scoring Final score is sum of QSO points times the sum of multipliers.
SWL Listeners have the same rules of OM. The same station cannot appear more than 3 (three) times on every band, regardless of mode, as a correspondent.
Awards A plaque with a certificate will be awarded to the top scoring station in each class. Special plaques can be awarded by the Contest Committee if country/continental/call-area participation will justify the decision. A certificate will be awarded to No. 2,3,4,5 top scoring stations in each class as well as to the top scoring stations in each country in each class. Two very attractive, large size plaques will be awarded by Santa Barbara Contesters to keep alive the memory of IN3ANE, Pietro Fiorita. The plaques will be assigned to: OM: the best score achieved by a OM under 21 years of age SWL: the best score achieved by a SWL under 18 years of age. In order to qualify for these awards, entrants must clearly state their age and birth date on the summary sheet.
Logs Separate logs are necessary for each band. Logs must show all the QSO's data. A summary sheet is required showing all the scoring details, class of entry, name, callsign, full address of the applicant callsign of other operators and a signed declaration. Logs must be mailed within 30 days from the end of the contest and addressed to:
ARI Contest Manager

Logs on diskette are very welcome and accepted in substitution of paperlogs. Please send us your log on diskette. Accepted formats are: N6TR, K1EA, ASCII as well as the MS/DOS software distributed free of cost from the Contest Committee. A printed summary sheet must always be enclosed.
Penalties and DisqualificationDisqualification may apply for:
Free Contest SoftwareAn IBM-compatible software to administrate this contest is available free of cost. It can be used on real-time or either after the contest. It calculates points, multipliers and score, you have just to type the callsign and the received report. It prints logs, summary and dupe sheets as well as QSL labels. It has PacketCluster capability. An updated version is now available, revised and modified. The software can be received by sending 5 US Dollars or 10 IRCs to cover the diskette and postage expenses to the Contest Manager.
---------- o0o ----------Object: The activity will be between European countries and the rest of the world.
Date:Time: Saturday 00.00 - Sunday 24.00.
Bands: 3.5 - 7 - 14 - 21 - 28 MHz. Minimum operating time on a band is 15 minutes. A quick band change is allowed to work new multipliers.
Note: DX packet cluster spotting is allowed for all classes.
Only 36 hours of operating time out of the 48-hour contest period are permitted for single operator stations. The 12-hour off time may be taken in one, but not more than 3 periods any time during the contest and must be indicated in the log. Off time must be at least 1 hour.
Exchange: RS(T) plus serial number.
Points: One point per QSO and one point for each QTC reported.
Multiplier: The multiplier for non-Europeans is determined my the number of European countries worked on each band (see the WAE country list). Europeans will use the ARRL DXCC list of non-European countries.
Bonus Multiplier: Multiply you multiplier on 80 meters by 4, on 40 by 3, and on 20/15/10 by 2.
Final Score: Total QSO points plus QTC points times the sum of total multipliers from all bands.
SWL: Only the single operator, all band class may be used. The same callsign, European or non-European, may be logged only once per band. The log must contain both callsigns and at least one of the control numbers. Each QSO logged counts 1 point; each complete QTC 1 point (maximum of 10 per station). Multiplier is determined by the DXCC and WAE country list.
QTC Traffic: Additional point credit may be earned by making use of the QTC traffic feature. A QTC is a report of a confirmed QSO that took place earlier in the contest and was later sent back to a European station. It can only be sent by a non-European station back to a European. The general idea is that after a number of Europeans have been worked, a list of these stations can be reported back during a QSO with another station. An additional one-point credit can be claimed for each station reported.
A QTC contains the time, call, and QSO number of the station being reported (e.g., 1300/DL2DN/134, which means that at 1300z you worked DL2DN and received #134).
A QSO can be reported only once and not back to the original station. A maximum of 10 QTCs to a station is allowed. The same station may be worked several times to complete this quota. Only the original contact, however, has QSO value.
Keep a uniform list of QTCs sent; 3/7 indicates that this is the third series of QTCs sent and that 7 are being reported.
If more than 100 QTCs are claimed, a check list must show that the maximum quota of 10 per station is not exceeded.
Club Competition: This rule requires the club to be a local group and not a national organization. Eligible club members must operate within a 500 km diameter. To be listed, a minimum of three logs must be received from a club. Entries must clearly indicate their club name on the summary sheet. A special trophy will be awarded by the DARC to the winning clubs from Europe and non-Europe.
Awards:Certificates will be awarded to the top scorers in each class in each country. Each participant with at least half the score of the continental leader will also receive a certificate. Plaques will go to continental winners in the single- and multi-operator classes and the winning EU and non-Eu clubs.
Logs: It is suggested that you use the official DARC or equivalent log form. Logs may also be sent on MS-DOS disks ASCII files. Use 40 contacts to the page and a separate sheet for each band. Submit a dupe sheet for each band with 200 or more contacts. A summary sheet showing the score and a signed delaration are also required (sample log forms are available with an SASE and/or IRCs).

Non-German stations give the usual RS/RST + serial number. German station give RS/RST + DOK (local area code).
A station may be worked once per band per mode.
Multiplier: The multiplier for non-german station is determined by the number of German district worked on each band regardless of mode.
The German district is indicated by the first letter of the DOK:
From special DOK's (two or more letter/figure or figure/letter combinations only the first letter counts. Thus a maximum of 26 multipliers per band is possible (letters A _ Z).
German station use the current DXCC-entity-/WAE-county-list.
Each entity/counntry counts one multiplier per band regardless of mode.
Scoring: Each complete exchange counts 3 points for non-German stations. German station gets one point for QSO with an other German station, 3 points for an European station and 5 points for a DX-station.
The final score is computed by multiplying the total number of QSO points by the sum of multi`liers from all bands.

http://www.darcdxhf.de for contest logging details! Only two files are needed:
1) A plain-text ASCII summary sheet MUST be included.
2) Your QSO-log (plain-text ASCII please). No band logs please, just the log which contains your contest operation following the serial number in chronological order (example: if you use CT, send the .all file)
Please check your files carefully before mailing!
ogs on fisk: One entry per disk. Your floppy disk must be IBM-compatible, MS-DOS formatted, 3,5-inch (40- or 80-track). The files required are the same as described under "logs via e-mail".
please see there.
Paper-logs: To ease checking participants are expected to arrange their logs according to the official WAEDC log form. All band changes have to be clearly indicated. The log must be accompanied by a summary sheet, and check sheet for multipliers. Duplicate contacts have to be clearly marked in the log. if more than 100 stations have been worked on a band a separate check sheet for duplicate contacts is obligatory.
Please note: Logs violating these rules can be regarded as check logs.
SWL: All SWL's get one point (SSB) or three points (CW) for logging each new German station with the sent RS/RST + DOK and the call of the station working with the German station.
The multiplier is determined by the sum of German district (first letter of DOK - see point 5) heard on each band.

---------- o0o ---------- SWL - Short Listening Period - contests
Summary: The SLP's are short listening period contests, taking place 8 times a year. In order to participate to the contest one should listen 3 times one hour in the contest weekend and try to log as much different prefixes and countries as possible. The final score is the sum of the prefixes of each band multiplied by the sum of the heard DXCC-countries logged on each band.
A logged contact is complete when you have noted: Frequency/Band - Date - Time(UTC) - Call of the heard station - Call of the counter station - Report of the heard station including contest extensions.
Only contacts in phone on 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 m bands are allowed for the contest and count all for one point.
One should stay at the same band for at least 10 minutes and a counter station may not return in the log within 5 minutes.
Give SWL-contesting a try an send your log with score calculation to the contest manager Ruud Ivens, NL290@amsat.org , or to his home address (see pt. 10 below), within a month after the contest weekend.
Detailed description
1. The SLP-contests are open to SWL's all over the world.
2. The contest dates in 2008
are:
1. 26/27 January
2. 1/2 March
3. 29/30 March
4. 3/4 May
5. 12/13 July
6. 6/7 September
7. 27/28 September
8. 25/26 October
3. Only phone contacts are permitted on the bands: 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meter.
4. During each contest weekend only 3 hours in the period Saturday 00.00 UTC and Sunday 24.00 UTC are valid for the SLP-log. These 3 hours may be divided in blocks of one, two or three hours (1+1+1 or 2+1 or 1+2 or 3 sequential hours). Each block should start at the beginning of an hour. Of course one may listen much longer than three hours but submit a log of only 3 hours sampled.
5. You have to log as much different prefixes and DXCC-entities as possible. Each heard station can be logged completely when you heard it mentioning the own call, the call of the counter station (working) and the report given (including contest extensions). There's no need to hear the counter station. In case you also may hear the counter station and its report, you may use that station as a separate log entry. A prefix is valid if it is conform to the WPX-rules and a country if it is conform to the DXCC-rules. Each prefix counts for one point and each country for one multiplier. On each band a prefix only counts once and a country too. On another band the prefixes and countries count again. The total score is calculated by multiplying the overall number of prefixes (sum of all bands) by the overall number of multipliers (sum of all bands)
6. You have to apply a separate log sheet for each band (not necessary for e-mail logs). Note your SWL-call, frequency/band and sheet number on top of each sheet. A log has to contain: Date, Time (UTC), Station heard, call of the counter station, report including the contest extension, the prefix point and the multiplier, indicated by the DXCC-entity. A heard station not participating in the running contest will probably exchange a report without sequence number or contest extension; in that case only the RS report is sufficient. Calculate the score on a summary sheet. On the summary sheet you also have to put the number of sheets, your complete name, address and a short description of the equipment used. The summary sheet also has to contain a statement that you observed the rules of the contest. Logs sent via E-mail are very welcome, preferably in TXT (ASCII) with tab or comma between the fields or in MS-WORD or MS-EXCEL. An E-mail log may be in order of time; in that case a split by band is not required under the restriction that each logged contact contains a band indication in the line.
7. Only contacts between amateur radio stations are valid. A station in the column "worked" (counter station) only may return in the log after 5 minutes. One has to stay on the same band for at least 10 minutes. One may use only one receiver at the same time and only single operator class is allowed. Duplicate logged stations, too early returned counter stations, duplicate prefixes and other log lines without points should be marked by -- or 0 in the column for the points (when you work out the log later, you may also delete these log lines). Logs with serious errors or too many mistakes will be put aside. In case of doubt concerning the validity of a logged contact the contest manager decides. Signing the log means you observed the contest rules.
8. In every SLP contest a souvenir is available for the highest classification, not having won a souvenir earlier during the running year (you only may win a souvenir once a year, but you also have a chance scoring the 2nd, 3rd or even the 4th place in a contest). The Daan Dekker Memorial will be awarded to the overall winner of this years SLP-contest sequence, summing the 6 best results. SWL's participating to at least 3 SLP-contests will be certified at the end of the sequence.
9. The contest results will be published in the ham radio magazine of the VERON - Electron, by E-mail and on the Internet: http://www.veron.nl/cie/nl/swlcontest .
10. The log of each separate contest should be sent to the contest manager within one month after the contest weekend (the postmark is decisive): Ruud Ivens, NL-290, Hittekamp 29, 3956 RE Leersum, The Netherlands. Or via E-mail: NL290@amsat.org . The reception of E-mail logs will be confirmed.
11. If paper log: write good readable. Digital logs are very welcome: see rule 6. When you totally log more than 20 entries on any band, a checklist of prefixes and multipliers is preferred. It helps you and us with checking the logs.

Purpose of the contest: To activate the 10 meter amateur band.
SWL’s: To log as much as possible DXCC-countries, USA-states and Canadian provinces on the 10 meter band.
1. Contest period: 8 December 2007, 00:00 UTC until 9 December 2007, 24:00 UTC
This contest period meets the ARRL 10 meter contest.
2. The contest is open to all SWL over the world.
4. It is allowed to participate in both categories. In that case two separate logs are obligatory.
5. Of every DXCC-country (except USA and Canada), every USA-state and every Canadian province only three stations count for the points: the first station brings in 5 points, the second 3 points and the third station 1 point.
6. The contest log has to consist of the columns: Date (YYMMDD), UTC (HHMM), Station heard, RS(T) at SWL’s, DXCC (except USA and Canada), USA-state or Canadian province. The stations in the USA report the state abbreviation and the Canadian stations the province abbreviation. Attention: These abbreviations have to be noted directly behind the call of the station heard. See the log example below.
7. The 5 minutes rule is applicated: the same corresponding station may appear in the log again after at least 5 minutes.
8. The total score is the result of the calculation: points x DXCC x states/provinces.
9. The log has to be sent ultimately on 31 January 2008 to the
contestmanager:
